Help applying for Extra Help, the program that lowers prescription drug costs for people on Medicare with limited income.
What it does
It reduces the monthly premium for your Part D drug plan, reduces or removes the deductible, and cuts what you pay for each prescription. For someone on several medications it can be the difference between filling them and not.
What the application asks
Income, and the value of savings and investments. It does not count your home or your car. We go through it with you and make sure the figures are right, because an inaccurate application is worse than a late one.
Often alongside the Medicare Savings Program
The two programs have similar limits and the same people often qualify for both. If you are applying for one, ask about the other while you are here.
